Role Profile:

Work in conjunction with relevant Business Accounts Manager, Business Finance Manager & IT Team to plan, manage and implement various Taxation related accounting requirements in Middle East to ensure that Financials Accounting is fully Tax compliant. Support all Tax Inspections and implement necessary changes in accounting processes / documentation retention resulting due to gaps noted in Tax Inspections.

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

 Maintains knowledge on current and emerging Taxation developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with relevant stakeholder to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.

  • Ensure identification, development, and implementation of tax accounting process improvements that improve compliances across the organization.
  • Enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Contributes to Business and Corporate strategy creation for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Executes approved Tax Compliances processes strategy for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert around changing tax laws and the implications they will have the Business / Company.
  • Oversee the day-to-day tax accounting, planning, compliance, and policy functions.
  • Ensure that return filing processes are carried in house mostly and engage with Tax Consultants, as the need be.
  • Develop and implement a tax strategy and structure based for new business within Compliance framework and present recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper and timely completion of domestic and international direct and indirect tax returns, including all related analysis and support.
  • Monitor and manage tax applicability, collection and reporting requirements and processes (sales tax, VAT, WHT, Corporate Income Tax, Excise Tax & Zakat etc)
  • Management of all Tax Inspections with in given timelines and provide support to Tax Consultants for the same.
  • Review existing accounting policies and recommend changes to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Co-ordination and works towards successful tax inspection, objections & appeal with in given timelines.
  • Liaises with Internal & External auditors to ensure compliance with relevant Taxation requirements and standards.
  • Assist on tax planning projects and tax-specific workstreams for integration initiatives, product launches and international business expansion
  • Monitor transfer pricing arrangements between the entities
  • Assess and implement appropriate internal controls related to tax accounting processes and procedures

Requirements:  Degree / Post graduate equivalent qualifications (CA, CPA, ACCA) in Accounting, Audit & Tax. 10 Years + Post qualification experience in large multinational Retail Organization.

Skills: In depth knowledge of Taxes in Middle East, Oracle System, ability to read / write / speak English and Arabic.
