 Role Profile:

To assist Head of Insurance in managing the in-house Insurance function of a diversified group, with Retail operations in 19+ countries (ME, Europe, Africa) and real estate, trading, hotels, and other businesses. This includes technical assistance including but not limited to Policy Review, Claims Preparation, Analytical support of various types of insurances both HR related (Life, Medical, WC etc.) and non-HR related.

 The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in procuring adequate insurance coverage as required by the business; provide insights ofclaims and potential premium impact.
  • Assist in managing the insurance portfolio of the Group’s operations in all countries from data collection and maintenance point of view with respect to insurance placement, renewal, and analytical point of view.
  • Deal with various stake holders for the key data and present professionally to insuranceproviders/brokers in coordination with head of insurance
  • Coordinate and prepare risk related information from various business to assist in reviewing and assessing the risks associated with the business
  • Deal with insurance suppliers/brokers and obtain insurance coverage and terms, aid head of insurance in negotiating premiums/other terms with brokers, etc.
  • Assist in review of policy wordings to ensure the coverage is in line with terms agreed with insurers during placement/renewal process
  • Coordinate with various insurance companies/brokers to receive, maintain and analyze the claims data and to assist head of group insurance with analysis in negotiating the best possible terms for business for all types of insurances
  • Assist in administration of the requirements under the insurance policies, including periodical declarations, data processing, etc.
  • Prepare insurance claims by coordinating with various departments in the company and assist head of insurance in negotiating with the insurers
  • Provide analytical support to head of insurance to advise various functions of the company
  • Prepare insurance premium budget in coordination with head of insurance and various businesses
  • Prepare and maintain a scientific methodology for allocation of premium to various stake holders for all types of insurances
  • Deal with all stake holders during preparation and settlement of all types of claims in Coordination with head of insurance
  • Assist business units in recovering claims from third parties linked to shipments and property damages and others if any.
  • Provide training to insurance officer and prepare the role to handle more responsibilities independently
  • Design and organize training to various stake holders and increase awareness on various insurance processes

Knowledge:

  • Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics / Science / Commerce / Management
  • Professional Qualification
  • ACII (Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute London) or
  • FIII (Fellow of Insurance Institute of India) or
  • MIRM (Master of Institute of Risk Management, UK) or
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
  • Financial/analytical skills necessary to understand and deal with insurance matters

 

Experience:

  • This is a senior, responsible position and requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of managerial experience in insurance and risk management

Skills:

  • Well-versed in all aspects of insurance/risk management
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office and similar applications
  • Ability to work independently

 

Additional role requirements:

  • Experience in working at brokerage or insurance company could be an added advantage
