Logistics

The Corporate Logistics Team plan, move and control the flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption across all divisions, markets and brands within Alshaya. Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to store, the team manages a range of complex and diverse activities including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (in-bound and out-bound), compliance and project management.

Role Profile:

Working in the Central Logistics Planning Team supporting within own area by developing and implementing current and future activities and projects. Work towards the Business strategies and acts in accordance with the company’s guiding principles.

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

 

Help develop strategic and operational plans, manage execution and measure results.

  • Use the Central Logistics Planning reports developed to review brand forecast accuracy and compliance to agreed procedures, suggesting new reporting requirements where they will add value to the business.
  • Support the Central Logistics Planning Manager to manage key seasonal events and activities (Ramadan, EID’s, Mid/End of season sales).
  • Maintain and update all Central Logistics planning information (Supply Chain flows, New Stores etc.), keeping information backed up.

Provide functional expertise and execute functional responsibilities.

  • Create standard formats for data and reports for all areas, ensuring that the data captured is simple to provide/use and the reports issued deliver the information required in the most simple and efficient manner.
  • When required run the reports developed by the Central Logistics planning team and communicate them to the business in the agreed format.
  • Support the Logistics division with requests for information as required (E.g. To support adhoc requests from the business such as information re new markets, brands etc.).

Provide teams with coaching and development opportunities. Build effective teams.

  • Support the brand teams and new team members by training them on the reports used and explaining and educating them on the purpose of good planning and forecasting to the business.

Network with teams in other areas for effective communication.

  • Build strong relationships with the brand teams that support and facilitates the forecasting and planning process, by holding regular formal meetings with brands and having a clear and consistent communication process.

Knowledge:

Educated to High School Level

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in a retail or office environment
  • Experience of using spreadsheets and other PC based packages is essential

Skills:

  • Highly PC literate especially Excel
  • Numerical Skills
  • Ability to communicate in a confident manner

Additional role requirements:

  • Able to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Business and Technical Writing skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels.
  • High-level user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related modeling tools
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and under pressure
