Role Profile
Role Title: Assistant Merchandise Specialist
Division / Brand: H&M

Some of the key performance areas and responsibilities of an assistant merchandiser is to:

    • Execute all e‑commerce allocation and replenishment activities with accuracy to support the online sales plan and digital product strategy.
    • Monitor product availability, sell‑through, conversion, and other online KPIs to ensure healthy stock levels and optimal on‑site execution during peak trading periods.
    • Analyse daily/weekly e‑commerce performance reports to recommend product movements, reorders, sell‑down strategies, and visibility enhancements across the website.
    • Manage item setup, data entry, sample budgets, SKU creation, and ensure accurate and timely product tracking within e‑commerce systems (PIM/OMS/ERP).
    • Maintain and adjust online inventory levels based on seasonal sales plans, real‑time performance, and forecast changes to ensure optimal turnover and minimal ageing or markdown exposure.
    • Coordinate with Business Governance / Planning teams to ensure correct parameters for online channel clustering, size curves, and automated allocation rules.
    • Ensure all online product data, images, descriptions, and system attributes are accurate, enriched, and consistently maintained across platforms.
    • Support Merchandisers by providing automated dashboards, insights, and detailed analysis on online sales, margin, customer behaviour, and profitability trends.
    • Recommend actions within the e‑commerce allocation tool/OMS to optimize stock placement between warehouse and digital channels.
    • Assist in supporting new digital initiatives and platform launches, ensuring product availability and readiness for live activation.
    • Maintain and update digital price files, promotion setups, markdown schedules, and campaign-related price changes in coordination with marketing and pricing teams.
    • Manage stock balancing between online and offline channels, including transfers to optimize availability and reduce overstock.
    • Support customer service and fulfilment teams by resolving product‑related issues, stock discrepancies, and order challenges.
    • Coordinate with warehouses on inbound deliveries, new arrivals, and ensure timely updates on stock availability for online listing.
    •  Execute Return-to-Vendor workflows and ensure all system activities and documentation are recorded accurately.
    • Review automated invoices, packing lists, and operational documentation related to e‑commerce fulfilment.
    • Build strong cross-functional relationships with buying, planning, operations, marketing, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless digital execution.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather product insights, customer feedback, and relevant market trends to support online merchandising decisions.
