Logistics

The Corporate Logistics Team plan, move and control the flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption across all divisions, markets and brands within Alshaya. Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to store, the team manages a range of complex and diverse activities including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (in-bound and out-bound), compliance and project management.

Role Profile: 

Working in the Supply Chain Planning Team maintaining and improving logistics planning activities. Contribute and improve central logistics data management, analytics, and reporting. Implement and improve processes to help the warehouse operations and brand customers perform better.

 

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

Develop, Implement, and maintain Logistics data bases and reports for better planning and logistics operation performances.

  • Develop and maintaining the Logistics databases, ensuring all existing reports and data are accurate and available on time.
  • Develop & Implement required logistics reporting for measuring logistics, brand and third-party logistics provider performances against agreed service level agreements.
  • Working closely with other logistics functions (Warehouse Operations, Group Freight, Product Registration & Compliance) and IT (Internal and External Vendor) team to develop and implement standard methodology of obtaining data from various on-premises and cloud based system and implement centralized reporting.

To support supply chain specialist to implement and enhance the forecasting process in line with business need.

  • Work closely with supply chain team to ensure forecast and other planning related information are available accurately from brand on time.
  • Provide analytical support to supply chain team for brand forecast review and performance improvements.
  • Develop and maintain process of measuring and reporting forecast accuracy targets and produce executive summaries to senior. logistics and brand managers.
  • Work closely with supply chain team for Business planning and reporting and ensure smooth process.

Flow Planning - To Plan and control inbound and outbound volumes for Logistics operations in line with different route to market configurations brands operate.

  • Use Alshaya transport management system to manage and plan shipments delivering business objectives.
  • Identify and enable timely data availability in warehouse management system to process shipments by providing sufficient information to the brand for any follow-up.
  • Develop and implement a standard inbound and outbound planning process across all warehouse operations.

Support to Logistics Project and Finance Team.

  • Provide analytical support to project team for space planning for warehouse migration and new builds.
  • Provide support to logistics finances team by developing and maintaining set of reports for finance need like Activity Based Costing, Volume information, etc.

 

Role Requirements:

  • Educated to university degree level in Computer/Data Science, IT Engineering or Mathematics.
  • High performing Analyst with at least 5-6 years of experience in building, managing and reporting out of relational databases.
  • Minimum 2 years in a lead role is expected.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain experience is an advantage.
  • Highly PC literate and advanced in Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of ETL Tools (SQL BI – SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), Data Analytics and Reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik View or similar) would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to Amazon Redshift/Athena and Data Warehouse concepts.
  • Able to derive meaningful insights from crunching numbers and create data story.
  • Basic knowledge of Software Development: Java / C#.Net / HTML / CSS is beneficial.
  • Business and Technical Writing skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly and confidently.
  • High-level user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related modeling tools.
  • Experience in leading small teams is desirable.
