We are looking for a disciplined and ambitious Social Media and Digital Specialist to join the Starbucks MENA Marketing team dedicated to Social Media and Digital. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of social media campaign end-to-end launches, practical knowledge of social media channels, metrics and report creation; Google My Business location management and the technical ability to implement and deploy campaign and projects.
She / he will draw on their existing experience with, and understanding of, social media and digital to:
- Support market-by-market execution of social media content calendar across all MENA markets
- Work cross functionally to help identify opportunities for customer facing digital programme development and create partner engagement on our organic social and location touch-points.
- Regularly meet with Starbucks/Alshaya teams to shape / respond to content (includes: Shared Planed / Campaign Marketing, Public Affairs, Customer Care and Partner Resources)
- Contribute to the overall ambitions of Starbucks in the MENA by conducting periodic online research to inform strategy.
- Ownership of the weekly reporting on social media, location, and programmatic performance.
The Social Media and Digital Specialist reports into the Manager – Social Media and Digital and sits alongside other specialist roles in the team, including performance marketing. She/he will work closely with the creative agencies, Starbucks MENA marketing, category and operations team to deliver on the business goals. The candidate will be partner to the team, the business and the brand as a whole, acting as a custodian along-side other partners that proactively provide real-time, actionable insights from our organic social and digital eco-system sentiment that serve to protect the Alshaya Group, Starbucks and Starbucks partners online reputation.
The Social Media and Digital Specialist needs to demonstrate an appetite for continuous learning and development, agility in a dynamic environment, as digital tools, techniques and best practices evolve, and will make recommendations for improving our approach to social media and digital. She/he should also be capable of providing guidance and education for fellow marketers and for stakeholders in the wider business – including those in more senior positions. She/he will act as an ambassador for Marketing at Starbucks and support our drive to be recognized as a center of excellence within the Starbucks world, and to become an award-winning team within our region and industry.
The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:
Development, creation, and deployment of social media content and campaigns that are multi-site relevant and in-line with the business goals.
Ensuring that all new content is optimized for different platforms and formats, including those owned by third parties (e.g. social media platforms, paid ads, and online retailers)
Ensuring that all content across all of our organic social and digital properties is consistent with Starbucks global brand guidelines and adheres to our standards, as well in compliance with the Alshaya Group Content Compliance guidelines.
Quality control that the information provided on all of our digital properties is accurate and up-to-date and that our content is clear and intuitive, and is easy for customers to recognize, understand and remember
Understanding of local market insights (particularity Kuwait, KSA, UAE) that results in tailored content, including localized content for our markets, appears for the correct target audiences
Working closely with the marketing team, category, operations and central teams to ensure alignment, optimization and compliance of campaigns and content.
Analytical skills to gather, interpret, and recommend insights and actions based on social media, digital, and programmatic data against KPIs in a meaning and concise reporting structure.
Engage with and build relationships with internal and external stakeholder in favor of the business and brand goals such as: influencers, content creators, agencies.
Track and record financial budget spend within the social and digital organic and programmatic specialty.
Attention to detail and impeccable deployment is a must.
Social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Snap Chat) platform knowledge, metrics and analytics.
Google My Business: business location listing and management.
Social media and digital trends and best practices.
2-3 years of direct experience with social media campaigns and reporting, with at least 1 year of delivering integrated/omni-channel campaigns across social media, digital and influencer touchpoints.
Experience managing multimedia content (including written, visual and video)
Good knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Snap Chat and Google My Business are a must.
Good knowledge of social listening metrics and tools.
Experience of interpreting digital metrics and using test-and-learn methodologies to evaluate the success of content and identifying appropriate adjustments for future work.
Bilingual: Arabic and English speaker.
Experience of working with Insights (or similar functions) and understanding how customer insights can be used to shape and improve digital and content marketing
Good knowledge of enterprise level social media content management, social listening and digital is a plus,
Experience with large regional and matrix organizations
First-hand experience in the F&B/HORECA/ FMCG/ CPG sectors in MENA
Functional: digital content development; CMS; campaign and content calendars; content localization and audience targeting; digital analytics, evaluation and optimization; omnichannel customer experience; digital innovation and development.
