Role Profile:

To plan stock/intake requirements to meet the budgeted sales. Manage the range building and/or selection/buying process of ranges. Maintain gross profit on purchases and/or net profit on sales in line with overall business expectations.

 

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with business planning and ongoing planning of merchandise and forecasting of sales, subsequently accountable for sales / margin measurement.
  • Align with Category Manager product procurement through host brand range reviews or direct negotiation, including in season buys
  • Assess store execution of merchandising plans, recommend optimal range based on Store Grading
  • Recommend retail pricing levels, sales lines and implement mark down percentage strategy
  • Develop relationships with internal/ external contacts, and assess appropriate and critical information
  • Pro-actively utilize available software/ systems and identify improvements / requirements for further action.
  • Manage / maintain stock file accuracy.

 

Knowledge:

  • Good English written/verbal
  • University degree in Business

Experience

  • 1 year assistant merchandiser or similar experience is favorable

Skills:

  • IT Literate especially Excel
